Solar on the roof of the Canada Games Pool in Kamloops

The City of Kamloops is exploring the possibility of adding a solar array to the roof replacement project for the Canada Games Pool at the Tournament Capital Centre located at 901 McGill Road.

To help the community visualize and understand what this might look like, Sweet Spot Solar has designed the following example of a 312 module (99.84 kW DC) array. An array like this should cost between $300,000 - 320,000 installed when using the best quality products.

We have designed this array with top-of-line LG320 Watt monocrysalline modules and Outback Proharvest inverters. Modules would be mounted on a ballasted racking system like the EcoFoot2.

The array could look like this.

This array would generate annually 111.83 MWh of electricity at a levellized cost (25 year period) of 12.2 cents/kWh.

Sweet Spot Solar looks forward to bidding on this project assuming that the City goes ahead with the idea and that they actually put out a tender.
