When it comes to net metering, being negative is a good thing

It's still February but our solar arrays in British Columbia are already starting to produce significant amounts of energy. Here's an example from yesterday from our own personal array on Gabriola Island. The negative values show surplus production between 10AM-3PM. This house consumed 16 kWh of energy yesterday from the grid while running two heat pumps for a cost of $1.50.
